February's Words of the Day
Pugnacious = combative; quarrelsome
Ex. If you weren’t such a pugnacious jerk, we’d still be going out!
Neophyte – a novice
Ex. I’m a neophyte when it comes to cooking French cuisine, but I can
whip up a mean batch of ‘slice n’ bake’ chocolate chip cookies.
Redound = to have a consequence or effect
Ex. When our teenager forgets (which is most of the time) to pick
up the dog poop, the redound of “no computer” threatens.
Intransigent = uncompromising
Ex. I stopped dating him because he was always so damn intransigent.
Nonpareil = having no equal
Ex. My favorite bakery makes these delicious éclairs that are nonpareil with any
other.
